We had no claims on our trip to Morocco, but were pleased that InsureMyTrip sent us a reminder a few days before we left, suggesting that we print our confirmation and take the information with us in case we needed to file a claim while traveling. When we couldn't find the original confirmation, they quickly emailed us another copy, and we did take it with us. This company impressed us by not just trying to sell insurance, but actually looking out for the policyholders.

For the extent of coverage sought and amount of premium paid, it was quite reasonable. Having been on an island 3+ hours from Honolulu, with only one commercial flight per week, the telling situation of this policy's value would be if I needed to use the medical evacuation coverage.

Thankfully, we did not have to use our plan, but I sure felt better having it. It is a nice feeling to know you are covered for getting sick or injured on while on vacation! Will definitely get coverage again when traveling out of the county.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. InsureMytrip offers annual, Multi-Trip Travel Medical plans, which provide benefits for emergency medical care and evacuation to an appropriate treatment facility on each of your trips. We also have Multi-Trip Evacuation Only plans, which will allow travelers to receive coverage for emergency medical transportation. Unfortunately, Comprehensive policies (trip cancellation) are not available on an annual or multi-trip basic.Feb 20,2015

They promptly handled a claim for a missed hotel reservation due to a delayed flight. My complaint is that we were held over in London returning, and had to buy some things for the stay overnight, as our checked luggage was not available. InsureAssist would not cover that claim since it was on a return flight home, and we already had one delayed flight claim, and they did not cover two.

We would like to provide some insight on why the baggage delay claim and second travel delay claim cannot be covered on the policy. It is industry standard that the baggage delay benefit is for outbound flights only. In addition, travel delay coverage is typically provided on a one-time basis per trip. We were delayed by the airline and missed our overnight accommodation at a 5-star hotel. I was surprised that the hotel would not refund our stay and the trip insurance did not cover it. Lesson learned on our part, and would have to be more careful in the future.
