The TravCan Premier plan is the higher-end comprehensive trip cost protection plan from InsureAssist as it offers greater coverage limits and more options than the TravCan plan. If you are concerned about any pre-existing medical conditions that might affect your travel, this plan will waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion if purchased within 21 days of the initial trip payment and if the full cost of the trip is insured.

Applying for insurance was very easy on-line. We chose this plan because they were the primary insurer. Previously, we purchased travel insurance through another insurer. We had a claim to file and found out that they were a secondary insurer. We had to file unnecessary paperwork with Medicare which already stated we were not covered for overseas medical. It took 7 months to finally receive our claim funds. Fortunately, we did not have to file a claim this trip. Would never purchase trip insurance from a company that provides secondary coverage.

On a transatlantic cruise, my husband suffered from toothache. The ship's doctor gave him antibiotic and pain meds and told him to file with trip insurance. We tried but were told that coverage was only for accident to healthy tooth. We had Premier plan which was far from premier.

I did not have to use the plan so I can't really say I was satisfied with it. However, the price was great and gave me more coverage for less money than most of the other more popular insurance companies. I liked that it allowed me to waive pre-existing illness clause if I purchased it within 21 days of my initial deposit. That was an important part in my decision to have purchased it.

Since I did not file a claim I can't give an opinion on the coverage in reality, however the coverage offered was very good and the price was good as well.
