The plan I chose was, IMHO, very expensive. Like all insurance, you pay for those who do not take care of themselves! However, you have to travel with it, or you are playing Russian roulette.

I did not get any satisfactory results to my claim. Agents request over and over again documents and proof of documentation without any accomplishments. If we buy an insurance is to have a piece of mind to feel protected not to get more agony when the problem arises.

I insured my trip through International Medical Group, iTravelInsured.

We were going to be gone for a very long time and since one can not insure just part of the trip there were few companies that would take on the long vacation; iTravelInsured however would and did. I contracted COViD and consequently had to make a large claim since we missed a lot, lying in a hotel room trying to get better. In settling my claim they treated me very fairly; my settlement was larger than I expected due to benefits like 'travel delay' and 'trip interruption'.

Timeliness.... But from the time I submitted my claim to the day I received my check it was one day short of five months. Toward the end of that period I was questioning wether or not they were really going to issue me a check; I was starting to loose sleep, waking up thinking about what to do next. Consequently, have your eyes open if you go with IMG iTravelInsured, their good qualities outlined at the start of this review were drowned by the tartiness of the settlement process and final payment.

I've said I would not recommend the plan we got because of the hassle of the claims experience. Our claim was for less than $375 and it was very straightforward, and yet it took more than three months for it to be processed -- which I could have accepted had it not been for the confusing forms and equally confusing follow-up requests for additional information. In the end though we got payment. And I would probably think about the same policy again mainly because, from what I read, our experience is probably typical, though regrettable, for dealing with this type of insurance coverage.

Luckily my husband and I ended up never using our plan, but it was wonderful peace of mind. Especially when my husband caught some kind of chest cold and was the sickest he has ever been in his life. After a day or two of bed rest he was feeling 100%, but it was great peace of mind when we thought he was going to have to have a hospital visit in a foreign country.

We purchased the insurance for my husband and myself on the day we booked our flights. The next morning, I called to ask about a specific coverage and was told to email my question to the customer claims. I got an immediate response that an answer could take 21 days. It has now been 35 days since I emailed claims and have received no response. We took the trip and didn't need to put in a claim-----however, if they don't answer a simple question I can only imagine how long it would take for them to pay a claim. Won't use this company again.
