I had a medical emergency only 2 days into my 3 week trip. The travel assistance company found the nearest hospital to my location and followed up for any additional medical care. My out-of-pocket expenses were promptly reimbursed upon my return. I will definitely use this plan again.

Purchased this plan because we were traveling with an agency that we had never used previously. Also, the resort we were planning to stay at wasn't open yet, and as a precaution we purchased travel insurance. As it turned out, everything with the trip, the resort and the agency worked out fine, but unfortunately, my husband got involved in a project at work and as a result we couldn't travel. Luckily, we had the travel insurance and our claim was handled promptly and was very easy to submit. The $252 we spent on the plan saved us thousands in non-refundable trip costs.

Insurance for these big trips is so important that I can not imagine not having it. The M.H. Ross Advantage Bridge plan is very comprehensive and the cost is very competitive. Fortunately, I have never had to use it. However, there is peace of mind knowing I am covered if something happens.

I had a bad head cold and was unable to participate in a prepaid unrefundable scuba diving day. The dive operater wrote a receipt, signed with her contact email address to verify the legitimacy of the incident. But because I was not "evaluated by a physician" it would not be worth filing.

    Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were ill during your trip. You bring up an excelent point about travel insurance. When becoming ill or injured, while on a trip, it is necessary to seek medical attention while on your trip in order to have coverages such as interruption and medical expenses reimbursed through your insurance coverage. Also, be sure to get copies of medical records and an itemized receipt. Don't forget that you can always call the 24-hour emergency assistance number for guidance. They are there for more than just emergencies and can provide other services as well.

After filing a claim for a cancelled trip, our experience with this company was terrible. We continually had to call them to track the claim and every time they would say we needed to send more paperwork. Some receipts we sent them 4 times. We even had one of the tour operators email us to ask why they kept asking him for the same information. It took about 6 months for us to get about half of our money back. The one good thing I will say is about InsureMyTrip, who stepped in to help us at one point and were great to deal with.

    We are sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with the claims service. We apologize on behalf of the claims administrator that your claim took an unusually long time to process, and that you were repeatedly asked to provide documentation that had already been submitted. Depending upon the complexity of the claim, and how readily available the claims documentation is, claims processing should take anywhere between 3-8 weeks.
