I tried to file a claim but it was impossible getting through, so I finally just contacted the airlines myself. Next time I will do a better job of shopping for a trip insurance.

Luckily I didn't have to use the insurance, but just having the piece of mind knowing that if anything went wrong it was going to be covered was comforting. I thought the premium was very reasonable considering this was a once in a lifetime vacation and very expensive.
