We prepaid a lot money for a 7 week trip, and were pleased to know we had insurance.

I did not have to file a claim (thankfully) so I have no way of knowing whether this was a good purchase or not.

Price was good for the coverage I wanted. Customer service team on the phone for insuremytrip was very helpful. The online plan search didn't give me the information I needed so it was essential to be able to speak with someone to go through the small print. My trip involved some remote travel so I needed to make sure evacuation insurance was from point of accident/illness and not just from country. Plan looked good but fortunately didn't need to make a claim so didn't have to put it to the test.

Seven Corners Roundtrip
The Seven Corners RoundTrip was right for me as it provided greater amounts of coverage for what I considered the essential coverage areas, Medical Expense, Medical Evacuation and extension of coverage if under claim. The cost of the tour is something no one wants to lose but they already have determined that they can afford it, but the large risk of loosing Ten of Thousands of dollars is what should be insured if someone was hospitalized or had to be evacuated because of an injury or sickness. Also this plan has a Claim Determination Period that will extend not less than 12 consecutive months, over which Allowable Expenses are compared with Total Benefits, so if you had an accident on the last day of the tour and needed to be hospitalized for a week you would have coverage for the full week not the scheduled date your tour ends where many other policies would stop coverage.

Seven Corners Roundtrip
Our situation was a good example of why you should buy tour insurance. We were two thirds of the way through a tour of the Mediterranean when we received word that my wife's sister had died. We immediately made arrangements to leave the ship when it arrived at Santorini Island. We flew from there to Athens, then from Athens to Rome, missing our flight to Madrid because our plane was delayed by a problem at the Rome Airport. The flight to Madrid the next morning was too late to catch our flight to the United States. We soon learned that the next United flight was two days later so we went to the airport hotel that we were originally to have stayed at. Arriving at home, we sent a letter to Seven Corners describing why we were submitting a claim. They sent a packet of information about what we needed to do. We ultimately sent a large packet of about 20 pages of evidence for our claim and eventually received payments covering: the missed portion of our cruise, the Alitalia Airlines transfer flights to Madrid, the fee for changing over our United Flights to the U.S., and the cost of room and meals for two days and nights spent in Madrid, a total of almost $4000. Was the process simple? No, but then our situation had a lot of complications. Was it quick? No, about two months passed between submitting the last paper and receiving payment, but we did get our losses covered satisfactorily in then end. So we will definitely use Seven Corners on our next trip.

Good coverage for the price but you never know how good it is until you really need it

I contacted Customer Service before our trip to inquire why we only received one card when the insurance was for both husband and myself. The representative was very helpful and pleasant and although they usually only do send one card, she arranged to send a card in my name also. Dealing with them was a pleasant experience. I do believe the cost was quite high but might have been less had we arranged for the insurance sooner.
