I chose a mid-level trip insurance, just in case of a trip tragedy. We did have to file a claim because we had a medical emergency the day prior to leaving for our trip that made it impossible for us to attend. We were finally completely reimbursed after almost a month of filing the claim. I am happy that we were completely reimbursed, but the response time was not exactly up to my standards. We were given a claim representative, but when we did have an issue or needed to contact someone we just had to contact the main company & it took some time for that message to get filtered to our actual representative for a reply.

I had no reason cancelation clause and your agent kept asking me for reasons and proof for my trip being canceled. And to only refund 50% of my trip cost left me in the red. I used another insurance company for my trip to Europe this summer and had my train passage interrupted in France. I had to make airline reservations to complete my trip, and the other company refunded my airfare in full only asking for proof of train cancelation and the cost of airfare. While your company took over a month to send me a refund, this company resolved the issue in two days.

Documentation confirming cancellation penalties is required, however CFAR is truly cancel for ANY reason and additional information regarding the reason for cancellation is not usually necessary. This information is required if/when the reason for cancellation falls under a covered Trip Cancellation peril listed within the Policy of Insurance. If the reason is not covered under the base plan, and is being reviewed under CFAR instead - additional proof of reason for cancellation should not be requested. As such, I apologize that you were asked for additional documentation for a CFAR claim. I’ve sent your claim to Claims Management so that coaching can be provided. I’m glad to hear your claim was paid, and again apologize for the inconveniences along the way. AIG wouldn’t cover my claim because I had moved up our trip by two weeks and hadn’t updated the dates accordingly. I claim not fair! We still had the same cruise trip and airfare expenses. They used this technicality to avoid payment.

The policy needs to have correct travel details in order for coverage to apply. The festival organizers canceled the event. We were told by Peggy that we could suspend our coverage until the new event in 2024. A representative of AIG responded to my request with a "No" that's not possible. I feel ripped off by AIG in addition to the people at Music Fest Events.

I’m sorry to hear about your recent trip cancellation. While we cannot suspend your coverage indefinitely, you may qualify for a policy modification. In order to make a change to the travel dates listed on your policy, you must submit a formal policy modification request before the scheduled return date on your policy. The new travel dates cannot be more than one year beyond the original travel dates. Your new premium will be calculated based on the details of your rebooked trip. If the new premium is greater than your original premium, there will be additional premium charged. If the new premium is less than your original premium, no amount of the original premium will be refunded. I gave this plan a 5-star review based on the proposed/potential coverage and cost. I did not need to file a claim on the plan, so I cannot speak to whether or not the plan met expectations nor the service of the company for filing a claim. For cost and coverage, the plan provided what I needed to have covered for a reasonable price.
