Never explained to me was the fact that this is SECONDARY insurance. You must file a claim with some other medical insurance to collect (and then be denied). Further, they require so much documentation to even consider a claim, that I felt that it was not worthwhile to file one, even though I had one. Summary: very disappointing. Advice: ask in advance if travel insurance is primary or secondary, and what documentation is required to file a claim.

Thankfully, I didn't have to use the insurance even though we sailed during Hurricane Irma. But it was nice to know I had it.

All good. Did not need but would never travel without insurance. Those who choose to do so should consider the out of pocket cost if there is an emergency---not necessarily illness but scooter, car or other accidents not caused by you.

I have been purchasing travel insurance for over 20 years and finally had to use it for a very small claim (missed one hotel night because of a one day flight delay for a three week trip). It was very difficult to get answers over the phone. As expected, lots of paperwork and bureaucracy. Eventually, the full amount was paid.
