We had no problems so the plan was fine! It did provide a sense of security since Lufthansa was in a potential strike situation, so we were happy to have the insurance.

Insurance is best if you don't have to use it. Didn't have a claim so I am happy. Time limit from booking date to exempt pre-existing condition is annoying. You do not immediately think of insurance when booking your reservation, especially if you use miles.

I had some damage to a computer that had to be checked at the airplane door due to lack of room on the plane for carry-on luggage. Didn't know about the computer damage until I got home. Neither the airline or the insurance company was able to provide help in getting it repaired.

Most people buy insurance to help cover losses in the event that an unforeseen situation arises causing them financial harm. I bought this policy for at reason as well, but more importantly for peace of mind. There are a lot of moving parts to a long trip, many things to worry about, and plenty of unknowns and first time experiences that can make you nervous. Trip insurance covers everything else. A great security blanket!
