Turns out that emotional factors are not covered. My husband started having panic attacks, we had to cancel the cruise and we could not even use our insurance. Very disappointing and expensive.

Hard to rate the plans, over the years when I never use them. However that said, it does offer complete peace of mind. Which our family was very lucky we traveled as planned as hundreds of thousands of families were displaced due to bad weather this holiday season. So I will insure our next trip in June '16' shortly.

Mental, nervous, or psychological disorders are excluded on almost every travel insurance policy. The lone exception is that some plans will provide coverage for a mental, nervous, or psychological disorder which results in hospitalization.
If your primary trip cancellation concern is a mental, nervous, or psychological disorder, obtaining a Cancel For Any Reason benefit is advised. If you qualify and pay the premium for Cancel For Any Reason, you can literally cancel your trip for any reason.
The Cancel For Any Reason benefit has a few eligibility criteria:
1) Depending on the policy, Cancel For Any Reason is only available within 10-30 days after making the initial trip payment
2) You must insure 100% of the pre-paid, non-refundable trip cost
3) Depending on the policy, cancellation with the travel supplier must occur 48 or 72 hours before departure date
Benefits may only cover between 50%-75% of the pre-paid, non-refundable trip cost.
