I have to admit that I went into this with very limited knowledge and although the website and plan comparison was good, it still left questions to be answered. Speaking to the customer service representatives on the website was a revelation. Not only were they nice, but they were knowledgeable and helpful and really assisted me in focusing on what insurance my wife needed at the best combination of price and quality of the provider. These guys rocked! Now we were fortunate to not having had to make a claim, but at least we looked to be in the best position if we did. A+ recommendation

I hate buying trip insurance because the coverage is typically very limited. It is really just to protect you from losing all of your money in case cancellation of the trip is required.
If travelers would read the contract, they would be surprised at the small amount of coverage these plans provide. Reading the contract once the loss has occurred is too late.
All this being said, the InsureMyTrip website provides a great location to compare prices and plans. Just realize that good coverage will be very expensive.

Since I did not have to file a claim, I really don't know how thorough the coverage was compared to my perceptions of the coverage and reading of the policy. It was still not completely clear to me whether a prepaid hotel room cost, if lost due to a delayed flight, for whatever reason, would be covered by the plan. I did speak to someone but still wasn't positive as the policy seems to leave some "wiggle room".

Surprisingly reasonable price for great coverage. Great service from the InsureMyTrip rep in choosing the appropriate plan. She had very helpful tips on what and what not to do. Thanks again. Will continue to go to InsureMyTrip as we have for many years.

Trip Protector Lite Expanded
Prior to my trip I made a change in departure and return dates. After a short call to customer service, my policy was quickly amended and I received the revised coverage by email asap. Thankfully I did not have any adverse events necessitating a claim, but it was a comfort knowing I had suitable coverage!
