Unfortunately I did have to file a claim for the trip I had insured. My father was hospitalized and I had to return early. The claim was easy to file - the supporting documentation required was reasonable and easily obtained. I called for clarification on some things with the claim and the phone support was great.

It is always good to have a plan if something goes wrong, and things do go wrong. By purchasing travel insurance for a past trip we were able to recoup almost all expenses paid for that trip and also the cost of emergency flights to get home.

I did not use the insurance and that is the real test of how helpful it is. I felt the price was pretty good for the coverage we needed. When traveling with children you never know when they might get sick. We rented 2 different rental homes and I felt it was a better deal to get the coverage here instead of from VRBO.
