The real proof of a plan is the service received. Since we had no reason to file a claim, I cannot comment on the service aspect. I do believe that, like all travel insurance plans, that the profit margin is enoumous and, as a result, the rates are excessively high. A person on Medicare, going outside of the US, is caught between a rock and a hardplace. However, in reviewing all plans before we bought, this one seemed to have the best combination of coverages in order to mesh with our supplemental (to Medicare) plan.

We had no occasion to use the plan, but it was good as a back-up, since we almost needed it (hurricane). It seemed to include everything we needed, but its difficult for a novice to interpret anything from an insurance company.

We have used this plan extensively over multiple trips. On one of our trips, a daughter got sick before the trip and was unable to travel to Europe with us. We were able to recover virtually all of our expenses.
