Since we didn't experience any problems and had no need to file a claim, we can't really rate the company. However, we did receive a "bon voyage" message before the trip with info on contacting the company, so it was nice to know that the company was aware of our trip. We chose this insurance as it was comparable to that offered by the cruise company and a bit cheaper.

I feel that trip insurance in necessary. I don’t like it. I think it costs too much, BUT I have fortunately not had to make a claim. Having it gives me peace of mind.

    We appreciate your reply and can confirm that pricing is a common complaint among travelers. AIG Travel Guard bases their Comprehensive plan premiums based on trip cost, age of traveler, length of trip and state of Residency.

    In the future, we suggest that you call us for assistance when quoting or selecting a policy so we provide you with the most competitively priced premiums.

We didn't need to use our plan on this trip, but a few others in our group suffered injuries. Their misfortune served to remind us that anything can happen at any time. We were glad to have the peace of mind this policy provided.

The cost was reasonable and the purchasing process was very easy.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
This is an update of a previous review. My claim has been approved and should be paid within 10 days. I think the process could have been simpler. I had a previous claim several years ago that was handled much more expeditiously. I will not use AIG again.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
We are over seventy and were in Europe for over three months. We paid $4,500 for your insurance. Nothing happened. We rented a car but you did not cover that because we had insurance from my credit card (which paid us for a charge). So your insurance was useless to us. We have discovered that we don't need the medical coverage you provide and almost everything else you cover is incidental and rare.
