As far as I know, the policy coverage is fine. I have never purchased trip insurance before, but I probably do so in the future, due to the type of travel I now do. Hopefully, all will go well in the future.

For the extent of coverage sought and amount of premium paid, it was quite reasonable. Having been on an island 3+ hours from Honolulu, with only one commercial flight per week, the telling situation of this policy's value would be if I needed to use the medical evacuation coverage.

Fortunately, the dive resort in Belize we were going to, strongly recommended trip insurance. Unfortunately, my husband developed a hernia and needed surgery. He would not have been able to participate in the scheduled trip activities. He is a very healthy, active guy. The trip needed to be cancelled for all 5 of the insured travelers. We needed to use travel insurance for the first time ever. The claims administrator was thorough, communicative, and helpful. I thought the reimbursement was very fair, it covered just about everything. They ask for quite a bit of documentation, so be thorough with your paper work. I can't blame them. I would use them again in a heart beat! In fact, I'm booking my next trip and will call InsureMyTrip for coverage, instead of the company the tour operator suggested.

They promptly handled a claim for a missed hotel reservation due to a delayed flight. My complaint is that we were held over in London returning, and had to buy some things for the stay overnight, as our checked luggage was not available. InsureAssist would not cover that claim since it was on a return flight home, and we already had one delayed flight claim, and they did not cover two.

We are amazed with the quick response to our claim. We submitted all the paperwork requested. No questions asked, and we received our check for the claim within 2 weeks. Very, very impressed. Will use Travel Guard for all our trips. Thank you for the excellent service.
