We cruise frequently and have been purchasing Travel insurance for many years. After comparing a number of policies we have come to the conclusion that TravelSafe Classic offers the best coverage in it's class at a very competitive price.
Earlier this year on the 3rd day of our 20 day cruise we got the word that a very close relative had passed away and we had to rush back. This experience exposed the strengths and weaknesses of this plan. The process of filing claim was simple and according to the acknowledgment of the receipt of the claim I was to receive a decision within 14 days. After not having heard anything for almost a month I contacted TravelSafe who told me that they were just the agents for the US Fire Insurance and claims are handled by TripMate. Unfortunately there are a lot of negative reviews about TripMate and I experienced some of the same problems. Most of the time their phone would ring for a while and then disconnect the call, other times they would put me on hold for as long as an hour and then hang up. A few times I got the option to leave a message with a promise of receiving a call back within a few hours but no one ever called back. At least four times I managed to actually talk to an agent, each time they would take my information and promise to get back to me the next day but never heard back from any of them. After two and a half months of not getting anywhere with TripMate I requested assistance from TravelSafe who contacted TripMate on my behalf and within 2 weeks my claim was processed. In the end it took about 3 months and I received the full value of the benefits I had purchased. I am not sure how much longer it would have taken had TravelSafe not intervened. In spite of our frustrating experience with TripMate we just purchased TavelSafe Classic Plan for our upcoming cruise because it provides excellent coverage at a reasonable cost and I am told that TripMate is working on improving it's customer service.
On a side note, InsureMyTrip claims that if you purchase a policy through them they act as an advocate on your behalf, however, it was my experience that all InsureMyTrip did for me was to give me the telephone number of TravelSafe.

We like CSA Travel Protection. We have used it many times in the past and have always been quite satisfied with the service. Representatives are very friendly and informative in answering your questions, and the price of the insurance is competitive with other insurance companies. We know from our past experience that they will be there for us if an emergency situation happens while we are on vacation.

I bought the coverage early on. Then, the hurricane hit the Caribbean. While I didn’t need the insurance I was glad I had it as it provided a safety net. I was very glad I didn’t need to,use this. I think it’s worth the price more then the insurance one guys for their mobile phone

I purchased my trip last minute, and only really wanted medical evacuation and emergency assistance. Everything else (trip interruption, etc) was covered under other policies or I wasn't worried about. Plus, I trust Blue Cross Blue Shield. This was the perfect fit!

Pretty good value for travel insurance. Luckily we did not need to use it this time so that is great. I purchased same insurance thru Nationwide for next cruise as well.
