I thought the plan was good but when I found out that I paid almost $90 for a 10 day trip and my bag got lost on the way back, I called and they told me that delayed baggage coverage was only for the way there which I obviously didn't know before. The customer service rep for AXA wasn't very friendly about it either. Luckily my bag turned up and I didn't need to make a claim. But I already paid for another policy for AXA for my next trip in October (previously paid for) so I probably won't use that company next year when I travel or I will read the fine print and pay less!

We do suggest reviewing the policy certificate, before and after you purchase a policy, to ensure you know what your policy does and does not cover. There are plans available that do offer baggage coverage to and from your destination, but as you know not all do. I did not need the insurance, which is the best option!. If I had, it did cover a pre-existing condition and that was what I was looking for. Looked like a great policy. I am a travel agent and sell a different policy. I purchased this one. Seemed like a better price with pre-existing condition coverage. Happy that I did not need to use it!

I was looking for insurance only for evacuation to a medical facility and back to the U.S. if necessary. I was in Africa. This was one of the few firms I found that offered that coverage. I'm grateful to the agent who directed me to this policy. Thankfully, I didn't need to file a claim so can't comment on the how easy or difficult it was to file a claim.
