It’s price was reasonable and the communication prior to trip was good but I never had an issue.

I had to claim a doctor visit and medicines. the process took a couple of months, but I was reimbursed for all of my expenses. It was no harder or longer than any insurance claim. I will use them again soon.

WorldTrips Atlas Expedition
I am very dissatisfied with Tokio Marine HCC Medical Insurance Atlas Expedition. 4 of us, women, missed a flight from Louisville Ky to Chicago on May 18, because the Chicago Airport was closed due to weather. Over a three hour period, the Chicago airport opened and closed a few times, so by the time we reached it, our flight to Amsterdam was gone. We could not arrive in Amsterdam, and missed our first day and night of the cruise. United Airlines reimbursed us for purchased clothes and dinner, since luggage didn't arrive for 8 DAYS. All we wanted from our insurance was $264 for a day of cruise missed. My other two companions bought Roam Right, and WERE sent a check. Tokio HHC denied the claim. I would AVOID this company. Thank you.

Acting as your advocate, InsureMyTrip contacted the claims department to assist you with the claim that went unpaid. The representatives informed us that the claim was adjudicated in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy.

    As you and your travel companions purchased different policies this caused the policies to differ in slightly. Unfortunately, the policy you purchased did not have a Missed Connection benefit where your traveling companions policy offered this. The best way to avoid this situation in the future is for traveling companions to purchase with the same provider. Please feel free to call us at 800-487-4722 if you have any questions or concerns.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
Years ago when we traveled, we never purchased trip insurance, and we never regretted not doing so. However, as our parents have gotten older, we have purchased trip insurance for the last several trips with them, and by ourselves, just in case something happened and we were not able to go on the trip or needed to come home earlier than planned. Once again, we were happy to not need the insurance! If we had needed it, though, it would have helped limit the financial loss caused by a late trip cancellation or flight changes.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
We have used Generali (under both the CSA; Generali names) policies for years without ever filing a claim and were satisfied. Now that we have gone through the difficult claims process, which took hours and involved some contradictory information from their online help, we'll switch to a company with a clearer description of the coverage offered. Other providers state very clearly what the medical and dental coverage includes, and we will choose between one of them for our upcoming trip. Since our credit card covers all the trip delay, lost and delayed luggage, etc, medical coverage is the important part of a trip that needs coverage from a travel insurance policy.

    Thank you for your review. Although we can understand your wish to just wait until you return home to go for dental treatment, unfortunately no travel insurance provider including Generali would reimburse for dental treatment received once you are home.

    We did contact Generali to explain the confusion in your policy wording.
    Here is their response:

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
My father was placed on hospice 1 month prior to trip departure. I cancelled at that time and within 2 weeks received my refund difference. My father passed away during the trip dates, so not having to worry about the hassle of getting my money back was a great relief.
