We booked a Viking Ocean cruise over a year in advance. Before sailing we had an itinerary change and during sailing in the Mediterranean, another change. We are so happy we bought this insurance rather than the one the cruise line offers! Not only was it less expensive but it covered more. As a result of our claim documentation substantiating the changes, Nationwide processed checks quickly and within the advised time frame. We highly recommend purchasing the Nationwide Choice Cruise Plan!

Universal Cruise
Due to weather issues, we missed a flight and subsequently missed our cruise departure. We had to buy new airline tickets to a different destination in order to catch up with the cruise at the first port (which turned out to be the second port of call because the ship skipped the first port of call due to bad weather), stay overnight in a hotel and then use public transit to get to our destination. Upon our return home, we submitted a claim for all of the additional receipted travel expenses. Nationwide sent us a reimbursement, but not for the full amount. When I called to ask about the amount of reimbursement that we received, the agent agreed that we should have been reimbursed at a higher amount, authorized payment, and we received another check a week later. We were reimbursed for the full amount that we had receipts for. Because we were travelling internationally and had to spend a significant sum to reach our destination, we were very glad to have purchased insurance, and we would purchase it again for an international trip such as this.

When I compared the coverage to other plans, General Global Assist seemed like the best value for the money spent. Hard to judge how they would have handled claims, since Thank G-d we didn't have any issues.

thankfully I didn't need to use it so I have no idea how good it really is. It seemed somewhat pricey and would like to have more coverage for lost and delayed baggage, and missed connections.

Even thought I did not make any claims my attempts to contact your company to find out how to utilize the doctor on the ship were painful at best. Your phone numbers did not work and when I finally got through it was 30 minutes of Spanish Inquisition just to get another number to call. does not really make me enthusiastic about doing this again.
