I bought a Comprehensive Plan. However, it does not cover changed itineraries. Nor does it cover disappointed associated with the changed ports.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to learn that you are disappointed with the policy. It is true that this particular plan does not have Itinerary Change and Port of Call in the schedule of benefits.

    For future reference, InsureMyTrip does offer plans that contain Itinerary Change coverage, and we also have cruise specific products underwritten Nationwide which offer Itinerary Change - Port of Call, Itinerary Change - Inconvenience, and Itinerary Change - Pre-Paid Excursion benefits. We realize that this does not help you with the previous occurrence, but we do encourage you to call us at 800-487-4722 if you are looking for cruise insurance in the future.

With your policy of not returning funds for a trip that was cancelled months in advance (even before payment was due on the cruise ship) is just a complete rip off.
ESPECIALLY for repeat customers. Be assured you have lost our business and anyone we used to refer to you in the future. The worst customer service I have ever received. I don't even know how you are still in business but I can assure you that from me alone over a lifetime of cruising that you are losing $1,000's of dollars. Now add in our friends and referrals? We all be cruising the Mediterranean this summer and will happily NOT be using YOU. I would say yes to the box below on contacting me but you ignored my request for months to call me back about this issue so I know it is a joke. You don't even have customer service!

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with your experience. The policy premium could not be refunded due to the cancellation request occurring outside of the 10 day review period.

    The following excerpt has been taken from the InsureAssist TravCan policy certificate:

    "All premium is non-refundable after a 10 day review period."

    After reviewing your request to cancel the policy for a refund of premium, the Underwriter stood by the terms and conditions of the policy.

We were delayed over night because airline cancelled. Insurance covered meals and lodging. I was very disappointed they refused to pay taxi fare to/ from airport. I highly suggest you request taxi fare as part of trip delay. Thank you.

    The InsureAssist TravCan plan offers Trip Delay that includes reimbursement for "(b) Any reasonable additional expenses incurred" as a result of a Common Carrier delay. The policy defines Additional Expenses as "...any reasonable expenses for meals and lodging which were necessarily incurred as the result of a Hazard and which were not provided by the Common Carrier or other party free of charge." This definition precludes reimbursement for the taxi under this policy.

    In the future, should you wish to find a plan that would reimburse additional transportation expenses such as taxis from the hotel to the airport under Trip Delay, please call Customer Care at 800-487-4722 for quotes.

There was some terrorist activity going on the day we were suppose to leave for our trip. It involved Turkey but because this was not on our itinerary they would not allow us to cancel. Said it had to happen in one of our ports of call. When I asked how do we deal with getting back home if an attack happened she said you would pay up front and submit for refund when get home. So bottom line is you better have a lot of credit available. Not at all like I thought it would work.

    Thank you for your review regarding terrorism coverage. As you indicated that, in order to be a covered terrorist incident under the InsureAssist TravCan (as well as all our other plans), the terrorist act must occur in a city listed on your itinerary. The plans also require that the act that causes property damage or loss of life must be deemed a terrorist act by the United States Government.

    With respect to getting home if a terrorist attack occurred during the trip, as InsureAssist indicated, you would pay up front and be reimbursed later, but it is also important to note and that saving documentation, receipts, etc. would be critical.

    In the future, you may wish to call us at 800-487-4722 for quotes since there are plans that provide broader definitions of coverage as well as plans that offer Cancel for Any Reason coverage.
