Like many I have purchased trip insurance many times and have never had an occasion to need it. Thank goodness, but you do wonder if it will actually pay off if needed. IT DOES! I got very sick on a Norwegian Coastal Cruise and was taken to an emergency room in a small town. The charges were very reasonable, the cab to and from the clinic were more than the visit and medicine but my insurance paid it all and very quickly.
I had a bit more trouble with the trip interruption (because the ship didn't keep records of quarantine time, I didn't know to ask for documentation while on board) in spite of that the c.s. rep did all she could to at least get a check for the day I spent off the ship and in the clinic. The rep was patient, understanding and gave me a very good understanding of what to do when you have a reportable incident.

I'm not sure any review is appropriate unless I had to file a claim to see how the company responds. I did, however, feel confident with the plan and it did give me some peace of mind. I don't typically insure my trips in general but several expert cruise sites highly recommend insurance for people who take cruises.

Getting the coverage was easy, and it provided what we needed. We didn't have to file a claim, so I can't comment on the claims process.

There was a delay in reimbursement on my medical claim. I needed an EOB from my Medicare Advantage Plan saying they wouldn't cover my medical expenses outside the US. Most US medical insurance plans don't cover medical expenses outside the US.
This is a minor point but they sent me two checks each covering half the claim amount: one to me who had the claim & the other to my wife. One check with both names on it would have been less confusing than two checks.

since I did not have to file a claim I do not know if there would have been any problems. The price was half the cost that the cruise line wanted to charge for basically the same coverage.
