This was the second time I used InsureMyTrip. The representative found me a better plan than I was offered by the tour, plus it was less money. She helped me understand what I needed far better than the tour company. I felt I was well covered and felt secure with InsureMyTrip. I will definitely use them again for future trips.

We were delayed in reaching a vacation spot by 24 hours due to the airlines cancellation because of weather. I called InsureAssist to see if they offered help in re-booking flights. Found out that they did not offer this service but I did have trip interruption insurance. I should keep the bills for extra cost ect. and submit a claim. Submitted a claim for a hotel room and the loss of a night in a condo. Paid my total request in less than two weeks. I learned that I needed to kept the credit card statements that I paid parts of the vacation with. With a little digging I found these. In the future, I will assemble these in my travel folder. This company did everything you want an insurance company to do: paying the claims in a timely manner. I will use this company again.

Great piece of mind for the things that could go wrong. Fortunately we did not need it but others in our group needed insurance due to accidents.

I particularly liked the customer service representative...who cut right to the chase in terms of learning the salient facts of my life and then recommending the best policy for the money and circumstances. No waste of time...no up selling.....just good advice.

My responses are preliminary as the true measure of the plan's quality can only be determined after a claim has been processed. Fortunately none was required, however the uncertainty remains..

I fell and broke a tooth while in a remote and rural area of Thailand just a few days before my planned return to USA. I sent an email claim to Nationwide alerting them that I could not find medical assistance where I was and would get medical/dental attention the very next day that I returned to civilization(USA). I did that and then submitted the paid bill with my claim officially to the carrier. That was just rejected on the grounds that I should have gotten emergency treatment while in Thailand, which I explained was unavailable. That is unreasonable and unfair and was a sour and dissatisfied end to me doing business with you and Nationwide.

I apologize for the inconvenience and your experience on your trip. Unfortunately, claims departments will need proof the incident happened while on your covered trip. If you did not seek treatment of any kind there is no way to certify it happened on your trip.Mar 12,2014

Wish it were not necessary, but trip insurance at this point - for baby boomers with elderly parents still alive - is just a necessity.
