I have a question about this subject!

Question:

We are planning a family trip in June. All of our children & grandchildren will be included. I am thinking about trip insurance because our group airline tickets are date specific with no refunds. The death or major illness of one of our elderly parents is the only reason I could foresee us not taking the trip as planned. Since they aren't going on the trip can we still get coverage for this contingency?

Answer:

The number one covered reason for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption is the unforeseen sickness, accidental injury or death to you, a traveling companion or an immediate family member (including non-traveling family members). To see all of the covered reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip, please click on the dollar amount that appears NEXT to the words "Trip Cancellation" when viewing a quote.

Answer:

Every policy is different. Certain plans, such as the comprehensive package plans are only available to US residents leaving their homes in the US and returning to their homes in the US. Medical and evacuation coverage can be purchased by someone that lives anywhere in the world traveling outside of their home country. Canadian residents have their own set of rules and plans that will show when you select the appropriate province as your residence. The quote tool on our home page is designed so you can enter your trip information and see what plans are available based on the details of your specific trip. Please enter the correct travel information related to your trip, and the site will show you what plans are available for you to purchase.
