Answer:

Yes, people that live outside of the US can still purchase coverage on our website for Medical, Evacuation and Accidental death. Only US residents are eligible for cancellation coverage. If the travelers enter their personal trip details into the quote tool, the website will show them the plans that they are eligible for.

Answer:

Financial default is bankruptcy of the travel supplier you will be using on a covered trip that prevents them from providing the services you have paid them for.

Answer:

Yes, you can insure only what you have paid so far for the time being and then add on additional amounts in future as you incur them.

Question:

I just booked a trip this past Thursday 1/30/14, I leave on Tuesday 2/11/14 can I still get insurance during this time frame. I thought there was some limitation between the time the trip is booked, when you depart and when the insurance is purchased? Also I have purchased travel insurance in the past and usually purchased it at the same time I made the reservations. So when I purchase travel insurance after I have make the reservations, do you need to see a copy of the airfare or lodging reservations? Or is all you need is the total amount I am paying for airfare and lodging? Thanks for your help.

Answer:

Ultimately, you can purchase insurance any time prior to your date of departure. You do not need to submit documentation to us in order to buy it, no matter when you choose to buy it. Normally we do advise purchasing insurance within the first 10-30 days of making the initial trip deposit or payment so that you can qualify for time sensitive benefits like the waiver of existing conditions or cancel for any reason if necessary. That said, all you would need to get a quote is the total pre-paid and non-refundable cost of your trip, you don't need documentation unless you have a claim later on.

Question:

What is Annual Trip Insurance? Does it cover Jan - Dec or from when purchased - 12 months?
Kathy,
12/16/2013

Answer:

We do offer annual policies for medical and evacuation. These policies and memberships will start on the effective date you list on your policy and will cover you for multiple trips throughout the year. The policy will end one year from your effective date. Please keep in mind that each policy/membership will cover you for so many days each trip, typically 30-90 depending on the company and policy.
