Quality Assurance Analyst
The QA Analyst will provide manual and automated testing within the Scrum teams, and will provide effective verbal and written communication across all departments as we continuously evolve our testing best practices. The QA Analyst will also work closely with our Customer Care team to reproduce issues, and prepare them for upcoming changes by creating release notes and conducting training sessions for the people affected by the change. This role will report to the QA Manager, and will be part of the Technology Operations Team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Scrum team QA efforts for scheduled releases and on-demand pushes, including:
- Performing testing on local QA boxes and updating tickets with QA notes
- Coordinating with the team to create an integration environment for a release
- Sending release notes and status updates to the appropriate team leaders during the release process
- Performing secondary integration testing on RC and smoke testing on Production
- Assisting with automated testing as necessary to ensure the quality of a code release
- Prepare affected teams for application changes:
- Provide affected teams with any needed training on new features or changes to existing features
- Make affected teams aware of any changes to existing processes, workflows, or procedures
- Perform on-going site-wide regression testing on a regular basis, including:
- Various platform formats including Mobile and tablet (Android and Apple)
- Multiple browsers across multiple OSes (Windows, Mac, Linux)
- Actively help the QA team in identifying, defining and refining:
- Process improvements
- System and process documentation
- Testing scenarios and test plans
- Collaborate with the Development team to resolve issues, providing time estimates and status updates
- Work closely with members of all teams to coordinate testing efforts and communicate lessons learned and ideas for process improvement
Requirements:
- 1+ years of software testing experience, ideally in an Agile Scrum environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organization and follow-up skills
- Excellent communications skills
- A passion for teamwork and facilitating efforts across the entire organization
- Experience working with varied teams made up of a variety of stakeholders
- Excel while being self-directed to support the priorities of the team
- Understand the importance of providing estimates and meeting deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
- Experience using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Must be comfortable using multiple Operating Systems (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android) and multiple Internet Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE 9-11, Edge)
- Experience with issue tracking systems like Jira and Confluence is helpful
- Experience using Virtual Machines (e.g. Virtual Box or VM Ware) is helpful
- A good sense of humor and a desire to have fun in a professional environment
