Family Vacations: Apps to Download

If you’re planning a trip with the whole family, you know that a lot goes into the preparation and executing all of your plans. Luckily for us, there are several ways to utilize our smartphones to ensure the perfect family vacation. Here’s a list of great smartphone apps that can help you with organizing your travel plans:

When traveling with the whole family, it’s hard to keep track of what everyone should be packing based on weather forecasts and travel itineraries. For just $3, you can download Packing Pro to your smartphone and create your own lists of what you (and everybody else) need to remember to pack for your upcoming trip. You can either customize your personal items to add them to your list or choose from a catalog of over 800 items. This app is a great way to make sure you don’t forget anything on your trip, as you can personalize your very own checklist for yourself and anyone else you’re traveling with.

Trail Wallet

We all have that feeling of financial invincibility when we’re on vacation. We look to eat our meals in highly-rated restaurants and spend our nights experiencing great entertainment. This can certainly get a little pricey, so you’ll have to stick to a pre-determined budget. This sounds much more difficult than it can be with Trail Wallet, an iOS application that can be used to set a budget and track your spending while on a trip. With the app, you can simply enter your trip details, set your budget, and input all of your spending into their respective budget categories (such as dining or entertainment). Use Trail Wallet to make sure that you are having the best possible time on your trip without going over budget!

The best way to make sure that your vacation will not soon be forgotten is to take tons of pictures. One of the best parts of taking a family vacation is being able to share pictures with your friends and family to show them how much fun you all had. You can do just that with 23snaps, an easy-to-use smartphone app that allows you to privately share photos with anyone you choose. Use this app to create your own online scrapbook that can be seen by anyone in your inner-circle.

GateGuru is a free smartphone app that can be used to make traversing a crowded airport a lot easier for the whole family. This app offers all of the information you will need before boarding your flight, and it even includes TSA wait times and locations of restrooms, shops, and restaurants. This app also includes discounts on airport shops and even car rentals.

My Disney Experience

Disney World is most certainly considered the top destination for most family vacations. Well, if you’re taking the kids to Disney, be sure to download the My Disney Experience app before you go. This app provides to-the-minute wait times for rides, character appearance timelines, and maps of the parks for you to plan out your whole experience.

  1. For travel in any foreign country, I have used a app called “HERE” it does not use data. Just download the app FREE(at least for now) down load the country you will visit and it will find you and locate lots of places you want to see. Works great in the USA as well.
PS I have used it all over this planet, well much of it anyway.
