I had no reason to file any claims under HTH Worldwide TravelGap Gold plan, but it was reassuring to know that the insurance was in place.

I bought the plan for the travel medical insurance, but it also came with trip insurance, which I thought I'd never use. Our flight was delayed and we missed our international connection flight and had to forfeit one night of payment at our international hotel and pay an increase in the air fare price for a flight the next day. I made a claim for about $1,000, and I was refunded $500, which they said was their maximum payment.

If you have government provided medical coverage in your home city only, you NEED medical insurance when traveling outside your home coverage zone. but there is a 50 mile no mans land of non-coverage by travel insurance usually, so beware.
