InsureAssist TripMed

The TripMed plan offers medical coverage for single trips that are taken outside of your home country. It is most likely that your primary health insurance will either not fully cover, or not cover you at all while you are traveling outside of the U.S. This medical plan offers coverage to help fill in the gaps left by your primary health coverage.

With this plan, you can choose the Medical limit and also the deductible amount that you are most comfortable with, and that best fits your budget. If you will be traveling internationally, this plan can help give you peace of mind while you are away.

There is an additional option for hazardous activities coverage which provides coverage for activities such as sky diving, bungee cord jumping and scuba diving. This plan also includes emergency assistance services as well such as, medical evacuation, rebooking services, and medical or legal referral, etc., during your trip.

I didn't use the plan or file a claim so it's hard to really judge it. I got the insurance as backup for an upcoming trip. It was reasonably priced, which was nice. I can't speak to the actual insurance since it wasn't used.

I called customer service to receive information before going on my trip. I found them to be very receptive and helpful, they were clearly on your line.

We used this to cover us for any medical expenses that might arise on a trip to the United Kingdom, as our Medicare Advantage plan would only have covered us for initial emergency care, not any follow-up care or hospitalization.
