The Silver plan is the mid-level policy offered by John Hancock Insurance Agency and may be ideal for families traveling with children, as kids 18 and under are free as long as one parent is covered under the plan. Coverage is offered if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a typical covered reason which can range from an unforeseen illness, injury or death, to your destination being made uninhabitable by a natural disaster (please see your quoted plan for a full list of covered perils).
The Silver plan does offer higher limits of coverage than the Bronze plan for Baggage, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation. This plan also includes Accidental Death coverages as well as an option to add Rental Car coverage. If you are concerned about a potential Pre-Existing Condition causing you to make a claim, this plan offers a Pre-Existing Conditions Waiver. You must purchase the plan within 14 days of the initial trip payment and meet all other eligibility requirements to qualify for the waiver.
There are many unforeseen issues that may arise, especially when you are traveling with children, and it is best to be prepared and have the peace of mind that this coverage provides.

Everything we would be concerned with was covered. Mostly, we wanted coverage if we had medical issues out of country and needed medical care. Also, we wanted to make sure we got home if a medical emergency came up. Fortunately we did not have to file a claim, but I have already told another person about the insurance for a cruise she just booked.Sharon O.
More comprehensive coverage than my travel agent was offering at the same price!Joseph C.
