RoamRight Preferred

The Preferred plan is a mid-tier comprehensive travel insurance plan offered by RoamRight and has several options not offered on the Essential plan, allowing for a more customizable product. Some main elements of the Preferred plan are:

  • Trip Cost Protection — which covers your pre-paid non-refundable payments in the event you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a covered reason.
  • Medical Protection — which reimburses your for covered medical services while on your trip
  • Baggage Protection — which offers coverage in the event your bags are lost or delayed during your travels
  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage - which benefits a beneficiary of your choice in case the worst were to happen and you don't return home.
  • One child (age 17 or under) is free for each covered adult.

This plan can be personalized to satisfy your specific travel insurance needs with the following options:

  • Cancel For Any Reason — allows you to cancel your trip, up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure date in the event you have to cancel your trip for something other than a covered reason. Reimbursement under this coverage is up to 75% of the insured trip cost.
  • Cancel for Work Reasons — allows you to cancel your trip due to one of the listed work related reasons.

These optional coverages require purchase within 21 days of your initial trip payment and may not be available to residents of all states.

I would like to have had the claim processed a little quicker.

We bought it, didn't have to use it, PERFECT INSURANCE!

Being as I never needed to use the coverage, it is hard for me to rate this policy. I do think it was more worthwhile (and less expensive) to buy one policy that covered both our airline tickets and our cruise using InsureMyTrip instead of purchasing two separate policies from the airline and cruise line.
