Looks great on website and on paper. But I have never had a claim to file with them. Ultimately, handling of claims is the only thing that matters. Any policy is good until you have a claim; only then do you discover how good it really was.

Fortunately I didn't need to use it, but the price was so reasonable and the agent that I spoke with helped explain it so well, that I felt confident that had I needed it, there would be no surprises. I would definitely use them again and recommend them.

The paperwork was a challenge but mainly because of the medical situation. Tripmate took a bit longer to send check, but very pleased with outcome and accepted all the information. Since my sister was under another policy I sent everything and they had no problem splitting out my costs. Very pleased and would recommend.

AXA Assistance USA Gold
We were delayed by more than 24 hours.
In spite of that, all we were compensated for were some of our outlaid expenses. The delay cost us precious time from an expensive trip. There should be a reasonable remuneration for the time lost from our trip.

    Thank you very much for your comments regarding the Travel Delay coverage in the Gold plan. As you indicated, AXA would only reimburse you for your paid expenses. Unless the loss of time actually results in increased costs during the trip or unused prepaid expenses, as listed in the policy, there would be no coverage for the inconvenience of the delay in any Comprehensive plan even though it is definitely a disappointment when it occurs during a trip. However, we will bring it up to our various providers. Perhaps some form of reimbursement can be incorporated into future plans.
