Our baggage was delayed over 24 hours so technically we could have filed a claim, but since I didn't want to mess with going to buy clothes and file the claim, we ended up wearing the same thing for 2 days. Not terrible, but not ideal either.

Fortunately, we did not need to use any of the coverage, but we felt we would be well protected in any circumstance. There is, however, a lot of unclarity about how to add accommodations after airline tickets are booked. Also, it's hard to get a live person on the line.

You can insure the known costs to date, and once you make subsequent arrangements towards the trip, you can contact us at InsureMyTrip at 800-487-4722 to update your existing policy accordingly to include these prepaid non-refundable travel arrangements. This is the second time we have used insuremytrip.com; however, first time with RoamRight. The customer service representative that we utilized was outstanding, and furnished information about what the various parts of the policies covered. I wish I remembered her name! We were so impressed by her knowledge and customer service that we referred our friends, specifically, to her. Of course the true test of how good the insurance is, occurs when you have a claim. Thankfully, we have not needed to file a claim (knock on wood!)

Fortunately we did not need to use the plan but it gave peace of mind for our trip. Since our main insurance is Medicare now I have been using this site for all my trips out of country. It is easy and the price is reasonable.

While on a family trip to Ireland, one of our kids developed a tooth infection. We called our insurance provider (travelex) to see how we should proceed. Over the course of the next week, while our son saw doctors and even went to a hospital, Travelex called us almost DAILY to check in with us and see if we need anything or needed to fly home early. We did not end up leaving early, but I was so impressed by the care they showed and how easy it was to reach them, I have purchased insurance with them again for our families next 2 trips abroad.
