We have been buying travel insurance for years and this is the first time we needed to use it. My husband bought the insurance in April and then, totally out of the blue, had emergency open heart surgery on May 1st. Total shock. We had to cancel his trip. I filed a claim, but heard nothing back. I waited about a month. Finally, I called. I was told some pieces were missing. I did not feel as if the representative cared about me and actually I felt that he was hoping I wouldn't do the right things so maybe the claim could be denied. It was an airline ticket only that we were claiming. The rest of the money was returned by the tour company. After I asked him to please help me with all of this, he did not do so. I finally asked to be transferred to another person which was dicey, but they did it. Eventually, we received reimbursement for the airline ticket.
