Our return from a skiing trip to Big Sky Montana was delayed for three days by winter storm Jonas. When we were notified of our flight cancellation, I immediately called the toll free claims number. The rep I spoke with was very polite and issued a claim number and emailed me a claim form. As requested, I kept receipts for my extra nights in the hotel and food for the delay days. After three days we were able to get a return flight home. Within three days I filed a claim. Within three weeks of filing my claim, I received payment in full for my extra hotel and food costs during my travel delay. I could not be more pleased!!

Due to a major change in flight schedule by Delta, I was granted a full cash refund of my ticket price. This occurred some 6 weeks prior to departure date. Was told by InsureMyTrip no refund.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with your experience. The policy premium could not be refunded due to the cancellation request occurring outside of the 10 day review period.

    The following excerpt has been taken from the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential policy certificate:

    "All premium is non-refundable after a ten (10) day review period from the date of purchase in the event You have not incurred any claims during that time."

April Travel Protection Choice
We were very pleased with the entire process! After comparing several company policies and prices, we decided April Insurance had the most choices for the best price!
The representative we worked with was excellent!! So friendly and helpful!
The entire process went so easily and smoothly!
We did not need to use the insurance (thank goodness), but we had peace of mind knowing it was there in case we needed it!
We will use April again! Thank you!

Thanks to the blizzard in the northeast and all flights home cancelled ,we had to stay in Disney World two extra nights. After calling CSA and hearing that we had coverage for trip extension,we were able to relax and make the best of it.The agent on the phone explained our coverage ,what we needed to have such as receipts for food, hotel, transportation and how to file when we returned home. The claim was easy to file and we were paid promptly for the hotel and meals we were not expecting to have until we could get back home.

Did not have to use it. On a cruise ship for 7 nights and living in the city where the ship departed from, there really was no issue in lost luggage or delayed flights. I was more concern if one of got sick and or I have an 90 year old mother, that I was worried about. But everyone was fine and did not need insurance.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
Had to cancel one trip and reschedule due to a medical issue. As always, Nationwide is a pleasure to deal with and they respond quickly, even if they need more information, to handle a claim. Of all the traveling we do, we have had to file a couple of claims over the past year, and they have been great to work with. I think the best of the best when it comes to protecting a significant trip.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
It is very easy to meet all needs until one has to file a claim. Purchasing is easy. We did not have to file a claim so I can't really evaluate if the policy and company meet needs. My main needs are cancellation, interruption, medical, or existing condition coverage. Who knows what I pay for everything else that I don't need and have covered elsewhere.

RoamRight Preferred
-Assistance was not available in the evenings or weekends when I needed it.
-I was aware of the 75% refund rate on my "Cancel For Any Reason" policy. It really wasn't advantageous to have this policy because the airline charged $200 to cancel the $659 flight and would have given me a credit that equaled 75% of the ticket value, I won't buy insurance again since it ended up costing me more to have insurance than just cancel the ticket.
