We were fortunate that we did not have to use the travel insurance coverage as our trip was "event-free". But the coverage would have met our most important needs for a reasonable cost. My husband got sick and was hospitalized overseas on a previous trip, so we are very picky about what travel insurance we buy now.

I feel totally cheated. We purchased the "Cancel For Any Reason" plan because our daughter's work situation was so uncertain that there was possibility that she might not make to the trip up to the last minute. It turns out that plan has a "fine print" that a cancellation must be made 48 hours before the scheduled departure, which was never brought to my attention while I was considering purchasing it. As a result we missed the "48 hours" window and we did not get a coverage at all. If it requires two days advance notice, it is not really a "cancel for any reason" plan. Additionally this critical requirement should have been printed large and clear on up of the policy, the notice email and the insurance certificate, instead of hidden amoung the sea of words and have people miss it easily.

When I called RoamRight to report that my daughter did not get on the plane, the customer service representative apparently was not aware of this requirement either. She suggested that this was not a problem, and I would be reimbursed of the 75% of cost.

In short this was a terrible experience. I will find a way to post this to a larger audience so that others don't make the same mistake as i did.

Your claim was adjusted according to the terms of your policy.

    We are a little perplexed by the account of your call in which one of our representatives may have provided you with contradictory information regarding the 48 hour Cancel for Any Reason cancellation period. Our representatives have been trained on the policy coverages. C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
It was easy to review, compare and purchase. It was a relief to have when a bad storm threatened to alter our travel- which is also part of the comfort of being able to buy insurance. But we didn’t actually use the policy so can’t comment on whether or not it would have lived up to aid/relief we imagined. Never the less, I was glad to have it.

I was unsatisfied with the slow speed of processing our claim (two months) and the settlement. The company denied the airfare cost of my family of four returning home early from our Irish vacation because two of our party came down with pneumonia. They did pay for the medical and lodging costs due to an air delay, but not the cost of the additional airfare to cut our trip short, which was the bulk of our claim. I travel a lot and purchase trip insurance regularly. The one thing I purchase insurance for is hassle free coverage and timeliness. IMG fell short in both regards. This is the first time i have used IMG and it will be the last.
