Fortunately I did not experience difficulties with my recent trip to Iceland. However, I was comforted in knowing my trip would be covered with Roam Right. I carried the necessary paperwork with me and was grateful for the small Roam Right insurance card I could carry in my wallet. Thank you.

We had a pet emergency the night before we were to leave and had to postpone our trip for 3 days. It cost a lot to reschedule the flight and we lost the full amount of our first 3 night booking so the insurance, without coverage for pets, didn't help us at all.

The InsureMyTrip.com website allows you to compare the benefits, coverages, and exclusions of the insurance plans offered. The protection plan’s Description of Coverage is available on the InsureMyTrip.com website to view prior to purchasing. It was also emailed to you, along with the Confirmation of Coverage, at the time of purchase on May 8, 2017 at 2:38pm.
Please keep in mind, that the Travel Basic protection plan that was purchased is a Named Peril Policy meaning the policy outlines the coverage included and if the reason for trip cancellation or trip interruption is not listed, coverage does not apply. The 13 different reasons listed for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption can be found on pages 11 & 12 of the Description of Coverage. Unfortunately, pet emergencies are not an eligible reason for trip interruption benefits.
We empathize with your unfortunate situation; however, we trust that you understand that based on the terms and conditions of the protection plan purchased.

Trip insurance is part of every travel budget my wife and I put together, and we travel quite a bit. As we know people who have horror stories of extreme medical needs when traveling overseas we buy the maximum coverage available, and the policies from John Hancock have given us complete piece of mind. Rarely do we never need to use it, but for the couple of occasions when we did the coverage far exceeded the seemingly high up front cost of buying it in the first place. We wouldn't travel these days without it.

As with most insurance, the devil is in the details and I found the whole thing (what was covered, what wasn't) confusing. I wish everything could be summarized clearly in one page. I never understood exactly what I was getting for my purchase.
