Due to coronavirus airline cancelled our tickets to Italy, so we lost excursions and train tickets. Called the insurance company, explained the situation, girl was very snotty and rude, no help whatsoever!!!

We were unable to travel due to the corona virus in Italy. Your plan would not pay anything per your agent and I purchased trip insurance for nothing.

Seven Corners Liaison Travel Basic
I didn't have to file a claim with Seven Corners during my trip, but I had some annoyances with them that would lead me to recommend using a different company. Firstly, they did not send me a confirmation email of my plan. Yes, I checked my spam/trash folders. I had to contact them just to have them send me my travel insurance card to print. Secondly, they had no issues sending me multiple emails warning me that my plan was going to expire and asked me to renew. Well, of course it's going to expire because I only had a 2 week plan! I can only assume they are usually in the business for long term insurance plans and don't really have themselves set up properly for customers with short travel insurance plans.

    Thank you for your review. Seven Corners has provided the following response: "We’re glad to hear your trip went well, and we are sorry you did not receive a purchase confirmation. We routinely provide purchase confirmation emails with a link to our insurance ID cards for each purchase made. As far as renewal emails, we send those at preset intervals to remind people they can extend their plan if they would like. We find that customers often need to do this."

We missed our flight from LGA to BNA on the return, but SWA cancelled our flight and we were not contacted even though we had asked to take an earlier flight and were in the airport as the flight was leaving. We were later booked on the first flight out the following morning but had to stay in a hotel over night and got home the next day. That part was disappointing.
I did get a reply from SWA and they are going to issue us vouchers for the problems created with the missed flights.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
I purchased a policy from Nationwide for a cruise I planned to go on in October 2019. Because of the expense of a cruise, I thought insurance would be helpful in case I could not go on the cruise. Unfortunately for me I was robbed in Italy a couple of days before I was to go on the cruise. I could not go on the cruise as my entire purse was stolen with my passport and all my money. The cruise line will not let you go on board without a valid passport. I had no choice but to go to the nearest embassy to get an emergency passport to fly home. Nationwide said the cruise was not eligible for compensation. Ironically this was the only reason I bought insurance, in order to cover the cost of the trip if I was not able to go. All they would pay was $400.00 They sent an email stating they would send a check on December 4,2019.,but it could take 30 days to receive the check..This is ridiculous. It does not take 30 days to mail a check. I waited the required amount of time, and it is now well over 30 days. I called and they were not very helpful. I was told that if they were able to mail a check, it wouldn't be until Monday January 13,2020.. I can not recommend this company to anyone. I have no idea, if I will ever get paid.

    Thank you for your feedback on this policy. We are very sorry to hear that you were robbed on your trip and that your personal property was stolen. The representatives at Nationwide informed us that the claims were adjudicated in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy.

    Comprehensive plans are designed to cover as many risks as possible, but is very rare for any insurance plan to cover all possible risks. Unfortunately, it was determined that the event that interrupted your trip did not fall within the scope of Trip Interruption for this specific plan. Nationwide advised that you had coverage under Travel Delay and you were reimbursed the maximum amount under that benefit.

I had additional charges over the months preceding the actual trip and adding these charges for additional premium was like pulling teeth. There was no easy way to do it as I recall. No number to call; very trying time; got told the wrong premium then adjusted up, etc etc Bad scene.

Apparently the policy was purchased with an incorrect departure date which was corrected when you called to increase your total trip cost. This issue was easy to correct but required additional documentation. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in providing the necessary information.

GeoBlue Voyager Choice
It was easy to purchase online. I felt good about this product because I already use BCBS as my Medicare supplement & have been pleased with their plan.
Thankfully I didn't have to use this policy but it did provide peace of mind while on my trip.
