We paid over $1000 for a premium policy, then when my wife fractured her foot and we needed to incur cancellation expenses for some of our aggressive trip activities, we discovered you don't cover that situation. I haven't used trip insurance in the past and this taught me that it's still not worth it. I'll save a couple thousand a year in trip insurance costs, take my chances, and save money over the long run.

Unfortunately we had an emergency room visit while on our trip. We did not receive the bill from France until 4 months after the trip. I submitted the claim with an explanation of the delay in filing, and did not hear anything from the insurance company. However, I was pleasantly surprised when a check showed up for the amount we were billed from the Parisian Emergency Room.
I will definitely use this company, and insure my trip again.

It’s worth the peace of mind when you are traveling out of the country. This was the first time to purchase insurance for international travel and I had a lot of questions before purchasing a policy. While we're blessed not to need to file a claim, it was very reassuring to know that had something occurred, we were covered for all possibilities. A fellow traveler fell and broke her hip, needed immediate surgery in France, and her travel insurance made sure she got all necessary treatment. That's what it's all about and I appreciate InsureMyTrip's website so we can choose the correct coverage.

claim but called to inquire about reimbursement for two nights of hotel
accommodations and taxi expenses to get you from one place to another while your three companions were hiking. However, these would not be covered expenses under your Travel Delay coverage since the cause of the additional expenses were for an injury sustained prior to coverage which began on your date of departure.
Generali did suggest that you may still wish to submit a claim for reimburse-ment of any prepaid non-refundable travel expenses. Please call the Generali claims department at (800) 541-3522 for additional information.
