We were seeking some level of financial protection against unforeseen circumstances (expanded Covid restrictions, Covid illness within our travel party, etc) potentially affecting our travel and vacation plans. We found the travel insurance offered by this plan to be a reasonable cost for the reimbursement provided in the event some or all of our travelers had to cancel travel plans on short notice. Fortunately there was no need to cancel and we enjoyed a lovely vacation. Nonetheless we appreciated the piece of mind gained by having this level of financial protection in these uncertain Covid pandemic times.

My flight, for which I bought this plan, was canceled by the airline. It has NEVER been the case that I've been unable to claim costs for an airline-cancellation that resulted in a rebooking and other expenses. I was in for a rude shock when I was told by Generali that I should have read the fine print, which does not cover this kind of cancellation. Not only does this assume that I would know ahead of time what kind of trouble I would face, but that also, somehow, a cancellation by the airline itself is a problem that a passenger should bear with equanimity. Ridiculous.

It is hard to write a proper review if you did not use it. I was fortunate that I did not have to use it, but it gave me the peace of mind knowing that if something had gone wrong I was covered. It was a well-rated plan, covered all of my concerns, and was recommended by Insuremytrips - who was recommended by consumer reports, so I thought it was worth spending a little extra just in case.

We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. The plan you purchased includes approximately 20 different covered events under which we can provide coverage. The plan is unfortunately unable to provide coverage for every event that might cause an interruption.
