MEDEX Take Me Home - Single-Trip
My husband suffered a heart attack in Puerto Vallarta and it was recommended that he have a triple bypass as soon as possible. Medex could not have been more helpful and professional; we were flown home to the Mayo Clinic by air ambulance by an amazing group of health care professionals. HIGHLY recommended - thank you!

We fortunately did not need to use the coverage during our month long travel throughout Spain. However, this plan gave us peace of mind while traveling and was a cost effective alternative to the trip cancellation package offered by the tour operator.

InsureandGo Global Gold
This company was extremely hard to deal with. First it was difficult to reach a live person to answer the phone. If I left a message it was not returned. I would try day after day with no return phone call. Only after InsureMyTrip got involved did I receive my payment. Payment over a month to receive.

I would purchase this again, if I travel to the places that I did. I was in the Philippines, Malaysia and China and in these places, some of them remote, I was happy to know that if I needed any medical treatment or if my luggage was lost, I had good insurance for any problems or health issues encountered.

Travelex Travel Select
I went on a vacation and had some unfortunate medical issues. The emergency provider, On-Call is horrible and they bury you in paperwork instead of trying to help you.

TravelEx Claim Administration is no better. I filed 2 separate claims and provided all the documentation and now 1 month later I have not received any payment or information. I called to follow up and I was told someone would call me but noone did.

They did string me along, making partial payments until I persisted..

Finally 4 months later and several faxes and mailings later, the claim was settled, not exactly an easy process but I did get 95% of the claim reimbursed..

Insurance is highly regulated and in order to confirm coverage, completed claim forms and documentation are an important part of the claim process. Occasionally, additional documentation is required by our claims administrator in order to validate coverage as it relates to the specific conditions as listed in the plan purchased.

    Additionally, it is imperative for the Travel Assistance Company to obtain a completed medical report and fit to travel forms, prior to making safe travel arrangements.

AIG Travel Guard Basic
I called to inquire if this plan covered a flight cancellation as a delayed flight caused me to miss a connecting flight and therefore I had to wait overnight for the next available flight. I was told that this plan did not offer coverage as the reason for the delay was due to the flight crew arriving late.
Seemed a basic reason that would be covered but on this plan I was told it wasn´t so I could not claim if I made alternative arrangements.
I guess you get what you pay for and I chose the basic package, but it worries me what else is not covered if i needed assistance in more extreme circumstances.
