It's actually impossible to write a review with questions like these when I had no issues so didn't have to deal with trip insurance coverage. That would then be a more realistic review. However, I appreciated the simple process, the low cost. However, I think it would have been better to also include coverage for specific belongings and for me to have been able to say, this is how much my belongings are worth.

As I never had occasion to file a claim, it’s next to impossible to evaluate the company and its policies. But with a 90 year old mother and with me now being on Medicare, any foreign travel requires such insurance- preferably ‘insure for any risk’ in order to cover pre-existing conditions- and to provide both medical and automobile liability insurance for myself and any friends accompanying me.

    Thank you for your feedback. Comprehensive plans are designed to cover as many risks as possible, but is very rare for any insurance plan to cover all possible risks.

    With this plan, the exclusion for Pre-Existing Condition will be waived provided:
    a) Your Payment or Deposit for this Policy and enrollment form are received within 24 hours of the final Payment for Your Trip or before the final Payment for Your Trip; and
    b) You are not disabled from travel at the time Your premium is paid.

    For your state of residence, this policy covers 500,000USD per person in Medical.

    While this policy does have 40,000USD in Rental Car coverage, it would not cover liability, as that would be an exclusion on all travel insurance policies offered on our site.

    "BAGGAGE DELAY (Outward Journey Only)
    The Company will reimburse You for the expense of necessary personal effects, up to the maximum shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if Your Checked Baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than twelve (12) hours, while on a Covered Trip.
    You must be a ticketed passenger on a Common Carrier.
    Additionally, all claims must be verified by the Common Carrier who must certify the delay or misdirection and receipts for the purchases must accompany any claim. "

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
This was great travel insurance that protected us from financial disaster if we would have needed to cancel the trip, and for medical and repatriation costs if one of us would get sick. I'm glad that we had a great trip and we didn't need to file a claim, which is as it should be! But it's good to know that you would have been there if we needed you.

Seven Corners Liaison Travel Basic
Did not file any claims. Our trip went well and had no need. Insurance is always a bit confusing to me (my issue not Seven Corners) I would use Seven corners.

Seven Corners Liaison Travel Basic
First, I will state that Seven Corners paid a claim in 4 figures for me for a trip to Costa Rica; however, securing payment was a lengthy process requiring effort and persistence on my part. I submitted all required documentation within a week of my return. Two months passed without processing; I was told they were behind schedule, and new staff were being hired and trained.

After 3 months, I contacted them and was told there was a delay because dates on the medical bill didn't match. Well, yes, one was the date of service, and one was the date the bill was prepared. My customer service rep understood Spanish and recognized the issue immediately; but for an international insurance company, I'd expect the processing department not to miss basic details like this.

A week later, my claim was processed... for a total of 3 dollars. The processors had assumed I paid my bill in Costa Rican colones, when I had paid in U.S. dollars. Again, this seemed fairly clear from my documentation. If there was any uncertainty, why not reach out to me to confirm? Instead I needed to request another escalation.

This required several calls over several weeks. I was on hold at times for up to 30 minutes. I eventually was referred to a supervisor and promised a callback. When we finally did connect, I was told my claim would be paid in full. I received my payment about 4 months after filing.

As a solo international traveler, I depend on low-cost insurance plans, which I hope never to use, but if I do have to, I hope for a swift response that doesn't put a damper on my travel experience. Based on my experience with Seven Corners, I will not be using them again.
