Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
I would never use this company again! We were given incorrect information 2 out of the 3 times we called. Just shy of 48 of our departure our destination was placed under a tropical storm warning. We called to see what our options were. We were told by not just one, but two employees that we could cancel our trip under the "any reason" clause even though we were slightly under the 48 hour deadline. We questioned this multiple times because we were technically less than 48 hours before our flight. We were assured that the claims department would be understanding of the inclement weather since it was a named tropical storm and would be entitled to 75% refund of all non-refundable monies paid. We were told that as long as we cancelled that evening we would still be allowed to cancel. We decided not to take chances with the bad weather and chose to cancel our trip. When we called back for the 3rd time, we were told that if we were to cancel we would not received any of our money back because we were under the 48 hour mark. This employee identified herself as a supervisor and said that the other two employees had given us incorrect information. If we had not called that 3rd time we would have missed our whole trip and wouldn't have been refunded a penny. There were other discrepancies in the several conversations my husband and I had with the employees that I won't waste time detailing, but there were also significant errors. Luckily, we went on our trip and everything was fantastic - the storm turned and weather was great. However, if we had trusted the employees working for this company we would have been out of about $6,000.00. I would never recommend this company to anyone. As a customer we relied on them to give us correct information so we could make informed decisions. This situation could have ended very badly.
