I have health insurance for travel abroad but this was a hiking trip through the mountains of southern New Zealand. I wanted additional insurance coverage in the event of a accident. This policy provided that coverage at a reasonable cost for a 5 week trip. Fortunately I didn't need the policy but was glad to have it. It was particularly easy to set up and design the type of coverage I wanted.

The plan cost was amazing for the coverage received. The claims process was quick and generous: I filed for a trip delay claim on June 20, got an email on June 30 asking for additional expenses receipts, and received checks in the mail on July 14. I was surprised by the trip delay coverage being for each calendar day instead of per 24 hours of delay. That doubled the per day limit per person that we were covered for. I will purchase this plan again for future trips!

It was easy to see our options and the prices were competitive (with AAA for instance). I knew we could call them from anywhere in the world any time of day or night. We never needed to show or use the policy yet it was ready the entire 5 month trip.

Safe Travels Voyager
I did not receive medical care or need reimbursement for any medical costs while in New Zealand. However, I sprained my ankle while there and every contact number provided, international included, was not in service. I have international coverage and no problems with any other contacts except every phone number provided with this plan. I had several questions regarding my coverage while on vacation and unable to reach any customer service to get those questions answered. Very disappointed.

We are so sorry to hear about your sprained ankle while traveling, and how frustrating it must have been for you to not be able to get through for assistance. The phone number labeled “Collect” on the ID card is the number to call when outside of the US, and we do not see that there were any issues with the number, but will keep looking into it to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.Apr 13,2023

Generali is a complete racket. I have been tying for weeks to follow up on a claim and all they do is give me the run-around. Obviously they don't want to pay out the claim so they are ignoring me and hoping I'll give up. What a bunch of crooks. Will never use Insuremytrip or Generali again.

I have bought travel insurance multiple times in the past, but this was the first time I actually filed a claim. The process to file the claim online was very easy to use. I received the approval to my claim only one day after I filed it and a check arrived in the mail a week later. I was very impressed and would definitely use Generali Global Assistance for further travel insurance needs.
