It's impossible to evaluate how the plan did if I didn't use it. However, being an insurance agent & having more than the average guy's familiarity with insurance, I have found Nationwide to be the best & most reasonably priced policy to choose. Should I ever have a claim I assume they'll come thru for me. If not, they'll be dealing with a formidable opponent. Thank you.

While on vacation in Italy my travel partner came down with a hemorrhaging bladder infection. We called the number for coverage and got a recording, we weren’t impressed, but thought someone would call back in at least an hour. We didn’t hear from anyone until the next day and we had already taken care of the problem by other means. I’m just glad it wasn’t a more serious problem. Completely dissatisfied with this company.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We have passed this information on to the insurance provider. After purchase, IMG emails a purchase confirmation which can be printed and carried with you on the trip. The purchase confirmation includes the 24 hour emergency contact information. This is the phone number that you would want to call while you are traveling. I contracted pneumonia the day before we were supposed to return from Italy. Once home and somewhat functional, I submitted the receipts for the Doctor visit (came to hotel late at night), medications (including injections, prescriptions, & OTC), additional night at hotel, and airfare change fee. Travelex paid all the expenses submitted within 14 days. The only glitch we had was when my husband called TravelEx from Italy to find out how to proceed. The woman who answered the Travelex international "assistance" number would not provide any assistance or suggestions, other than stating we needed to file a claim - however, she refused to take our policy number to initiate one (she also refused to give her name). Thankfully, our Tour Manager was very helpful, and all our other dealings with Travelex were stellar. We will definitely use them again.

I have not had to file a claim during my travels, but it gives me peace of mind to know I have protection if I have a medical emergency overseas. Italian taxi drivers may be safe, but traffic in Italy makes a wild ride.
