I did NOT have to use the policy but it made me feel much better to have it with such a long and expensive trip. One person in our lodge got bitten by a caymen and had to be evacuated out of the rain forest. He really regretted not having insurance to handle the health care costs and to cover the cost of his 40 day missed trip. The policy was reasonably priced and gave good coverage.

We did not have to file a claim so I can't review the claims process, but we were very satisfied with the coverage and the price for this protection. It cost about half of the price of the travel insurance offered by the tour company with equal, and in some cases better, coverage.

We had booked the same trip last year, but my husband had kidney problems. We had to cancel the trip, and John Hancock paid immediately. Such a relief not to hassle with trip insurance when going through medical issues. This year it was wonderful to know if we needed the help it would be there. Thank you!
