Imagine our surprise when we contacted C & F Travel and asked for reimbursement for these expenses, and we were told they would not be covered. Also, we were told "heart attack by mother" does not necessarily guarantee coverage. Should we have canceled a portion of our trip, they would "review" the case. What exactly IS covered???? Trip Interruption reimburses the unused, pre-paid and nonrefundable trip cost and the difference in airfare for returning home early per the advice of a physician.
One of the main reasons that an insurance company cannot guarantee a successful claim is because of the pre-existing condition exclusion. A “Pre-Existing Condition†means an illness, disease, or other condition during the 60 day period immediately prior to the date your coverage is effective for which you or your traveling companion, business partner or a family member received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, medical treatment or a new or changed prescription.
