Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) plans pay benefits if you should have a serious injury that results in dismemberment or loss of life. Loss of life benefits paid by these plans are in addition to any benefits paid by life insurance plans.

Travel Accident Plan
It is really difficult to give a meaningful review of this coverage, because my trip was mostly uneventful in terms of the serious problems that this coverage is meant to help with. No lost luggage or flight disruptions of any kind. And, of course, I am writing this, so the ADD coverage could only be rated by my sweet widow had I perished during the trip. I am thankful that such a review is impossible!

Listing all the plan's options online would've been helpful (and making sure CSRs are fully informed about the products). When I called, I was told by more than one CSR the available options would not cover me for parts of my specific trip (climbing/mountaineering above 14,000 feet). I was then told a few days later by another rep that there was an option that would cover me for all of it, including climbing above 14,000 feet (we were climbing to just under 20,000 feet, on Kilimanjaro).
