Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I didn't have to use this plan, that's when things go bad because usually it's super hard to get service from an insurance company once you really need it so I can't say anything about the claim process and the service having to use the plan. Up front the plan seems to cover most everything & was in a good price range compared to other companies charging double for the same plan.

The Generali/CSA claims process was enabled/streamlined by their online portal, the claim was processed quickly, and it was processed in full despite my inability to obtain documentation as thorough as required (best I could get in remote areas).

My wife broke her arm in India. I called the company from India...they were unhelpful and wanted me to complete forms! That was ridiculous...how do you complete forms from India.

We would like to take this opportunity to clarify how On Call International, Travelex’s travel assistance company, offers assistance for medical emergencies that present themselves on a covered trip. On Call’s medical case process requires all patients to be evaluated by a treating physician and to have the medical information reviewed by On Call’s Medical Team to help ensure patient’s safety, in order to assist the traveler. On Call’s Medical Team specializes in flight physiology and follows guidelines set forth by the International Air Medical Transport Association and the Aerospace Medical Association to determine a patient’s fit to fly status as patient’s conditions may change at elevation. While the medical case management and fit to fly approval process can seem overwhelming, the process is important to ensure a patient is safe enough to travel home. "
I purchased the plan in good faith thinking I will never have to use. Unfortunately my husband Deonarine Prasad fell and broke his leg. I could not get hold of anyone lines busy and long hold times so I gave up. We handled ourselves with medical in India paid out of pocket expenses. With assistance of the airline somewhat we are back home.
I am not one to complain but this was unacceptable

Fortunately we didn’t need to use the insurance. Other than a 12 hour flight delay on the way home (& Singaporeair put us up at a lovely Crowne Plaza hotel with dinner & breakfast), we had no serious injuries or illnesses. That’s what insurance is for.

I had a medical issue while overseas but didn’t want to visit a doctor in a 3rd world country. Since I waited until I was back in the US to get medical treatment I was not eligible to file a claim.

The IMG iTravelInsured LX plan provides coverage up to 100,000 USD per person for unforeseen, accidental injuries or emergency illnesses which first occur during the trip, and are treated by a physician during the trip. If medical treatment is not obtained during the trip, and the traveler waits until returning home to the United States, the travel insurance expires and is not responsible for the medical bills.
