Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Was quite easy getting the plan for our trip to Asia. Had some questions and had an online chat session with an agent who answered all questions and also provided info that I didn't know before but very useful. Quite satisfied with the customer service prior to purchasing the plan. Didn't need to file claims however as the trip went smoothly.

Cannot rate the coverage as we did not use it - difficult to prove a negative.
Some solace or comfort for that rare eventuality that it would be needed.
Application and purchase process was smooth and easy.
Most likely would not buy again for similar trip.

Compared to other policies for previous trips, this one seemed expensive either the coverage for many of the usual coverages low for the price but we had to have evacuation insurance from remote areas and your company was one of the few that provided it. We have always purchased insurance through the trekking company before but this company did not provide it to US participants. We have never filed a claim- it is too bad there is not some type of rebate for no claims! We feel we are overcharged due to age but we are both in great shape for our years- 4 major treks in 18 months!

We didn't file a claim so it's impossible to rate the service provided. We did have a $170 loss for an optional tour that we couldn't attend because my wife came down with a sore throat. I didn't bother filing a claim because I know Hancock, or any other travel insurer, would have required a doctor's certificate to reimburse and since we were in the middle of Nepal where there were no doctors we were unable to provide the required documentation. So, travel insurance is a necessary evil that can be used for serious injury but is generally overpriced since, as in our case, you can't even file a claim in certain circumstances. I'm not criticizing Hancock because all travel insurers have essentially the same requirements.
