Avoid this plan if you really want to be "insured". I was stuck in a foreign country, since my toddler fell sick (virus that causes breathing difficulty) prior to the return trip. Tokio Marine refused to pay the medical bill and the replacement ticket. The claims website is very obfuscating and pretty hard to figure out how it works. Go with a different company.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to learn about child's illness. Upon speaking with the insurance provider it appears the medical claim was paid, subject to the deductible selected on the policy. In terms of the trip interruption claim, it appears the reason for interrupting the trip, although serious, was not related to a listed covered reason, per the certificate. You do have the right to appeal the claim, and the link to proceed with the appeal was provided by the insurance provider. In the future we encourage you, and all customers, to call us prior to purchasing the insurance and we can assist you with purchasing a policy based on your primary concerns. The most important parts were loss of luggage, cancellation of trip, and medical coverage while abroad. We did not experience any of these conditions but it was comforting thought that should something like this happen we were covered.

I've been to Brazil, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, mainland China, Singapore and Thailand. I've eaten and enjoyed the street food without second thought or consequence. For some reason, India worried me. I avoided street food, brushed my teeth with bottled water, carried hand sanitizer and didn't get sick. AIG Travel insurance was one more arrow in my quiver. Glad I had it, glad I didn't get sick (or hit by a car trying to cross the street).
